Megan Leverette RMT

I moved to the Sea to Sky corridor in 1994 and fell in love with the people and the place. My love of the outdoors inevitably led to physiotherapy, chiropractic and massage appointments, so, I decided the other side of the treatment table would make for an interesting career. I graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2003. This place and it's people are a huge part of me and I love being able to contribute, through my work as an RMT, to this wonderful community.
My passion for education has guided me to take courses in myofascial release, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, Biofield Tuning, Traditional Thai Massage, Ligamentous Articular Strain Technique, yoga therapy and remedial exercise, energetic grounding, Reiki, Yin yoga, Qi Gong and Anatomy Trains and movement.
I am very passionate about yoga and have an active yoga practice. I have experience as a personal trainer and in pre & post natal fitness. My personal experience in both competitive and non-competitive sport provide me with insight and awareness of our local activities and injuries. I have have had incredible experiences working with athletes, specifically the Vancouver Canucks, UBC varsity athletes, Olympic athletes and at the 2003 World Weight Lifting Championships.
I began practicing in Squamish in 2007 and have recently moved my practice to my home studio. When not at work I can be found on the trails, here in Squamish, with my family, friends and dog.

Biofield Tuning

The term biofield refers to our body’s electrical system - both the electric current that runs through our bodies, and the magnetic field surrounding it.

Biofield Tuning is a sound therapy method that works directly with this system as it is connected with our conscious and subconscious mind.

During a session, a client lies fully clothed on a treatment table while the practitioner activates a tuning fork and combs the biofield slowly, beginning from about six feet away.

• feeling for resistance and turbulence in the client's biofield

• listening for a change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork

When the practitioner encounters a turbulent area he/she continues to activate the tuning fork and hold it in that specific spot. Research suggests the body's organizing intelligence uses the steady coherent vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to "tune" itself.

As the dissonance resolves and the sense of resistance gives way, it appears to correspond to the release of tension with the body. People relax and breathe more freely. It is often reported that people feel physically lighter and have improved mental clarity.
